Japan: Typhoon Chan-hom Brings Strong Winds, Tearing Roof Off in Mito
Typhoon Chan-hom made landfall in southern Ibaraki Prefecture near Tokyo on Tuesday, August 11. Chan-hom brought high winds that knocked down trees and left thousands of homes without power, injuring seven people and disrupting flights at Tokyo-area airports.
In Mito, strong winds tore the roof and walls off a shed near a bathhouse, sending debris into the parking lot.
