Spain: Powerful Winds Batter Southern Valencia During Storm 2
A powerful storm swept through southern Valencia on Thursday, August 20, bringing wind gusts of up to 149 km/h. The storm exited to sea near Cullera, El Perelló and El Saler after a brief but intense pass through the region, the national weather agency AEMET said. Heavy rain, hail and strong wind gusts brought down trees and caused the roof of a church in Alzira to collapse.
