On May 1, 2026, in Pu’er, located in southwestern China’s Yunnan province, a video captured a red-crowned crane walking into a restaurant near a wetland. The wetland beside the restaurant had many cranes nearby. One crane entered the dining area and walked directly toward a customer’s table, seemingly looking for food. Children watched the crane happily and gave it some food. The crane ate it and continued waiting for another person to feed it, showing little fear of people before finally leaving the restaurant.
