Dollar tops 120 yen in Tokyo morning, hitting 28-month high

TOKYO, Japan - The U.S. dollar topped 120 yen for the first time in more than two years and hit a 28-month high on the morning of Dec. 2 in Tokyo as investors stepped up dollar buying to invest gains from robust Japanese stocks into U.S. assets on expectations of higher U.S. interest rates.

However, the U.S. dollar bounced back sharply on short-covering, topping 111.42 yen at 11 a.m.
