SAPPORO, Japan - Some 100 people gather on July 20 at a restaurant in Sapporo to remember Yutaka Akino, one of four members of the U.N. observers shot and killed a year ago in a mountainous area of the former Soviet republic of Tajikistan. Akino, an associate professor at Tsukuba University, was remembered by his students, researchers, Foreign Ministry staff, and family and friends in same restaurant garden where he married his wife Yoko 25 years ago.
