The eclipse started at Mexico's Pacific coast around 1:07 p.m. CDT, crossed into the United States near Eagle Pass, western Texas, at 1:27 p.m., and then moved northeast across Texas, and many other states before reaching Canada. In Plano, a suburban city of Dallas, the partial eclipse lasted from 12:23 p.m. to 3:02 p.m. The total eclipse, where the moon fully covered the sun, occurred from 1:41 p.m. to 1:44 p.m., lasting nearly 4 minutes.
