The Chokugaku-mon Gate of Yusho-in Reibyo, Zojoji Temple, Shiba

The tomb of the Seventh Shogun Ietsugu which was located to the north of Bunshoin. The Chokugaku Gate had bronze roof tiles and was cornered with Chinese-style bargeboards, and the sides have Chinese-style gates with four legs in chidori bargeboards. Dragon carvings can be observed on the pillars. The woman on the left has her hair arranged in marumage style with floral hairpins and her striped sash tied in chidori-musubi fashion. She is holding a shamisen lute. The Chokugaku-mon Gate of Yusho-in Reibyo, Zojoji Temple, Shiba

Zojoji is one of the six head temples of Jodoshin Sect and contains the tombs of the Tokugawa family. Yushoin is the Buddhist name of the seventh Shogun Tokugawa Ietsugu. The Chokugaku Gate has a bronze tiled roof. There is a Chinese bargeboard, and the sides are a four pillared Chinese Gate with chidori bargeboard. The Chokugaku-mon Gate of Yusho-in Reibyo, Zojoji Temple, Shiba

Zojoji is one of the six temple headquarters of the Jodo Sect and enshrines the tombs of the Tokugawa family. Yushoin is the Buddhist name of the seventh Shogun Tokugawa Ietsugu. The Chokugaku Gate has bronze tiles in eaves of Chinese barge board, and the side is a four-pillared Chinese-style gate with Chidori barge board. The picture was taken from the left front (see pictures no. 27-2 and 42-44). The bell tower at Kofukuji Temple

Written February 1866 by Beato. The bell tower to the right front of the Buddha Hall at Kofukuji Temple. It was built in 1663, restored in 1692 after being destroyed by fire, and repaired four times after 1731. It is a wooden building in two stories with roof tiles and irimoya.
