The Chokugaku-mon Gate of Yusho-in Reibyo, Zojoji Temple, Shiba

Zojoji is one of the six head temples of Jodoshin Sect and contains the tombs of the Tokugawa family. Yushoin is the Buddhist name of the seventh Shogun Tokugawa Ietsugu. The Chokugaku Gate has a bronze tiled roof. There is a Chinese bargeboard, and the sides are a four pillared Chinese Gate with chidori bargeboard. The picture was taken from the right front (see pictures numbered 22-9 and 42-44). To the left corner across the fence is the roof of the water basin.==Date:unknown, Place:Tokyo, Photo:[R.
