Canada: Lightning Storms Disrupt Flights at Vancouver Airport

Overnight lightning storms disrupted operations at Vancouver International Airport, forcing a pause of more than five hours, with more than 50 flights cancelled and at least 53 delayed into Sunday, August 23. Environment Canada recorded nearly 2,000 lightning strikes across British Columbia's South Coast between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
