Panel proposes preservation of tsunami-hit school

An expert panel proposed on Dec. 22, 2014, that the school building be preserved in its current state to hand down the legacy of the disaster.

ISHINOMAKI, Japan - A classroom at Kadonowaki Elementary School in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan, remains in the same state on Jan. 22, 2014, as right after being hit by the March 2011 tsunami and ensuing fire.
