YAMAGUCHI, Japan - A photo taken on July 10 shows the Panamanian-registered car carrier Gruz, in which 14 people suffered burns and were taken to hospital following an explosion in the engine room. The 45,000-ton ship is berthed at a dockyard of Shin Kasado Dockyard Co., a shipbuilder and ship-repair firm based in Kudamatsu, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

YAMAGUCHI, Japan - Firefighters look for missing crew members of the Indonesian-registered freighter Tri Ardhianto on Kasado Island in the Seto Inland Sea off Yamaguchi Prefecture on Sept. 8. The 6,315-ton freighter ran aground on Sept. 7 in strong winds triggered by Typhoon Songda. All 22 crew members aboard the ship went missing. Nine bodies believed to be that of the missing crew members were found.
