Taiwan-made general-purpose lathe "SJ series" imported and sold by TAKAMATSU MACHINE TOOL CO.

Interest in the SJ series ofgeneral-purpose lathes manufactured by Taiwan's Yu-Chia Industrial Group and imported and sold by Takamatsu Machinery is slowly increasing. Takamatsu Machinery has been dealing with the product since 2008, when it formed a partnership with Tomoka Jitsugyo. The reason for the interest is that the machine is priced at 3.3 million yen (excluding consumption tax), which is less expensive than domestically produced machines, yet it has the necessary rigidity and functions. Takamatsu believes that small and medium-sized factories have a deep-seated demand for general-purpose machines that are convenient for small-scale processing and that they would like to have one of these machines. Hyogo Seimitsu Kogyosho builds its own robot system.

Hyogo Seimitsu Kogyosho (Hyogo Ward, Kobe City) has started to build a robot system to improve productivity within the company. In the past, cast parts weighing several dozen kilograms were manually fed into machine tools and the finished products were taken out. The tip of the robot's arm was developed and manufactured independently, and a light-weight yet high-strength mechanism that can withstand the transportation of heavy objects was adopted. The lathe process can be reduced to about one-third of the conventional process, which will lead to an optimal allocation of human resources in the plant. At the Sasayama Plant, the products to be processed by each machine tool are separated, minimizing the need for setup changes. The company aims to further improve its production efficiency by optimizing the use of robots within the company. Sekiguchi Sangyo willaccelerate the automation of its production sites to cope with the labor shortage.
