7,600 People Evacuated In Tenerife In The Fire - Spain

The forest fire declared in the bush area in Arafo is "out of control" when it has been active for almost two days, during which time it has burned more than 2,600 hectares in a perimeter that reaches 31 kilometers and has caused the evacuation and confinement of more than 7,600 people in the last 34 hours. The fire mainly affects the municipalities of Arafo, Candelaria, Santa Ursula, La Matanza, El Rosario and La Orotava. More than 258 personnel of the Civil Protection and Emergency Services of the Government of the Canary Islands and the UME are working to try to contain the fire.
