Confectionery maker Meiji Seika Kaisha Ltd. set up the billboard along the outer surface of its factory ahead of Valentine's Day on Feb. 14 when it is customary in Japan for women to give chocolates to men. The company has applied to Guinness World Records for the billboard to be registered as the world's biggest advertising board made of plastic.

The 3-meter-high sweet was produced by leading confectionery maker Meiji Seika Ltd. to mark Beckham's appearance in TV commercials for the company. Meiji Seika spent two and a half months making the statue using some several thousand tablets of chocolate.

Meiji Seika, Pokka prepare new drink brand, 1st since business ti

TOKYO, Japan - Confectionery maker Meiji Seika Kaisha Ltd. and soft drinks maker Pokka Corp. said Aug. 20 they will launch ''Cocopresso,'' a new canned drink, in September under the first brand they have jointly created since forming a business alliance last year.
