The Pearl Fire broke out northwest of Red Feather Lakes in the Crystal Lakes area in Colorado Monday, September 16, forcing mandatory evacuation. Larimer County sheriff said the fire was human caused.

SENDAI, Japan - Photo released by the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) shows Mick Dawson, from Boston, England, who sent a distress call June 14 during his solo attempt to row across the Pacific Ocean from Japan to the United States.
