Schindler-made elevator accident

Yankees' Matsui meets with Japan's oldest hippopotamus

NOMI, Japan - New York Yankees' Hideki Matsui (L), now in his hometown in Ishikawa Prefecture, visited Ishikawa Zoo in Nomi on Jan. 3 to meet Deka, the oldest female hippopotamus in Japan. Matsui sent a message two years ago to Deka on her 55th birthday, the same number as he has on his uniform.

Renewed museum of New York Yankees Matsui to open in Ishikawa Pref.

NOMI, Japan - A museum devoted to New York Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui is reopened to the media after renovations on Dec. 5 in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture, where he is from. The Hideki Matsui baseball museum, established in 1994, was remodeled and moved to a place closer to his parent's home at a cost of about 500 million yen. It opens to the public on Dec. 8.
