A violent thunderstorm hit Lyon and its surrounding region in France's Rhône department on Friday, August 28, prompting an orange storm warning. Heavy rain, gusts exceeding 110 km/h, and lightning brought down trees across the city, causing damage in multiple areas.

UK: Yellow Weather Warning Hits Derbyshire as Storms Flood Roads

Severe thunderstorms swept across large parts of England and Wales on Thursday, August 27, with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms covering all of Derbyshire. Heavy rain flooded several roads in the county, and some areas experienced temporary power cuts.

Japan: Record Rain Triggers Highest-Level Emergency Warning in Fukui 2

Japan's weather agency issued a Level 5 Emergency Warning for Heavy Rain, its highest alert level, for the cities of Fukui, Ono and Katsuyama in Fukui Prefecture on Sunday, August 30, as record rainfall caused flooding, swollen rivers and landslides across the region.
