Masnytsia" on Spivoche Field at the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine in Pyrohiv, Kyiv, capital of Ukraine. A "kolodka" in the form of a rolling pin, log, shawl, ribbon, or flower was attached to boys and girls limbs as a punishment for not getting married during the previous Masnytsia.

Iranian Jews Told To Break Contact With Israeli Relatives - Tehran

Iranian Jews have been receiving phone calls since the beginning of Israel's war in Gaza, threatening them and demanding that they break off contact with family members in Israel, according to a report from UK-based Iran International. Kishida's Reiko portrait auctioned for record 360 mil. yen

TOKYO, Japan - Two men hold the late Japanese painter Ryusei Kishida's famed portrait of his 6-year-old daughter Reiko wearing a wool shawl, auctioned Dec. 2 for 360 million yen, the highest successful bid in any auction in Japan. Toshio Nakamoto, a 71-year-old president of a major plywood manufacturer, bought the portrait at a Tokyo hotel.
