The big bell of Hokoji Temple placed on stone blocks is viewed from the east. A wooden fence surrounds the bell, and two men are standing nearby. Although entitled Japanese Singers, this staged scene actually shows torioi (bird chasing) strolling musicians. Originally part of celebratory ritual, torioi eventually turned into a custom called Kadozuke-gei. Located on Arasawa River, a tributary of Daiya River, Urami Falls is one of the three famous waterfalls of Nikko along with Kegon Falls and Kirifuri Falls. Seishinkaku is the place where a famous statue of Nichiren, the founder of the sect, is located. However, the building erected in the Edo Period was destroyed by fire in 1875.
