TOKYO, Japan - The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. (IEEE) of the United States presents a plaque to Japan's Meteorological Agency in Tokyo on March 6 for a radar which went out of service last year after 35 years of helping detect typhoons from Mt. Fuji. The institute described the radar as a ''feat in the field of electrical communication technology.''
