3 Laotians arrested over false registration of baby girl's birth

YOKOHAMA, Japan - Douangbouppha Thong Inh (in photo), a Laotian, his wife and a female compatriot living with the couple in Ayase, Kanagawa Prefecture, were arrested on May 12 on suspicion of falsely registering the birth of a baby girl in 2007. The baby was born to the woman living with the couple, but the couple registered the baby as their own in a bid to prevent the husband, who had overstayed his visa, from being deported.
