Children will chat and play around braziers in the huts during the festival which is expected to draw more than 300,000 visitors.

YOKOTE, Japan - A family admires small kamakuras, an igloo-like snow hut, lit by candles, in Yokote, Akita Prefecture, on Feb. 14, one day before the opening of a two-day annual Kamakura festival. About 100 3-meter-high snow huts and around 10,000 smaller ones were made for the event. Visitors can chat and play in the snow structures.
