YOKOHAMA, Japan - A female red-shanked douc langur monkey (R) on lease from the Singapore Zoo is unveiled at Yokohama's municipal zoo, Zoorasia, on May 7, 2012. To the left is one of two males of the species, listed as endangered and dubbed the ''world's most beautiful monkey,'' that the Japanese zoo has kept since its opening in 1999.

YOKOHAMA, Japan - A 2-year-old male Amur leopard is on the prowl at Zoorasia Yokohama Zoological Gardens in Yokohama on Aug. 7, 2011. The feline of the species in danger of extinction, which was moved to its new home from Hiroshima City Asa Zoological Park in Hiroshima in June, began appearing before the public in late July.

A rarely seen okapi, a member of the giraffe family, runs around March 25 at Zoorasia, a new zoo to open April 24 in Yokohama. It is the first time for the animal from tropical rain forests to be seen in Japan. The zoo will have 315 animals from 59 species, including the rare Indian lion.
