As the main aviation hub of Egypt, the airport said it no longer requires the inbound travelers to submit the hard copies of "declaration forms." Instead, the travelers can register the certificates of their COVID-19 vaccinations on a website and obtain a QR code to enter the country. The airport also said it has canceled the exceptional procedures for disinfecting aircraft after each flight and will conduct routine cleaning procedures. The minister said the decision was issued after he met with the country's health officials on Tuesday evening to follow up on the situation of the pandemic in the Arab country. In March, Egypt stopped publishing daily bulletins on the COVID-19 pandemic and chose to publish a weekly report instead when the health ministry said the fifth wave of the pandemic had subsided in Egypt. According to the latest report, Egypt registered around 3,900 new infections and 56 deaths in the week that ended on April 1. Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Cairo. (XHTV)
