The system, which controls ticket reservation as well as boarding and luggage flows, became unstable early in the day. The airline initially announced all domestic flights from Haneda would be canceled until 4 p.m. and later extended the cancellation until 6 p.m.

Postal savings ATMs not functioning

TOKYO, Japan - An official at a post office in Tokyo's Shinjuku explains malfunction of an automated teller machine (ATM) at his office Feb. 29. Some 1,200 of about 25,000 ATMs for postal savings throughout Japan failed to function. It was not immediately known whether the problem is related to the leap year computer glitch.
