Settling in the Yarmouk camp south of Damascus, the Al-Aqad family managed to create a semblance of stability throughout the years and owned their own apartment building in Yarmouk. Like in most areas across Syria, the outbreak of the Syrian war in 2011 brought chaos and destruction to the Yarmouk Camp.
