According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday, Australia's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 0.2 percent in the third quarter. It marked the eighth straight quarter of economic growth but a fall from 0.4 percent growth in the three months to the end of June. The Australian Associated Press reported that economists had projected economic growth of 0.5 percent in the September quarter. In the 12 months to the end of September, Australia's GDP grew 2.1 percent, the data showed.
