TOKYO, Japan - Victor Co. of Japan (JVC) will release a 26-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) TV set (photo) on Aug. 1. The LT-26LC4 is the first 26-inch flat-screen TV and offers high-definition images made possible by JVC's plasma-display panel technology. The new product is also equipped with high-quality speakers used for audio equipment. JVC will not suggest a retail price for the LT-26LC4, which is expected to be available for around 370,000 yen. NEC to launch PCs for digital satellite TV broadcasts

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows what NEC Corp. says is Japan's first desktop personal computer capable of receiving digital satellite television broadcasts. NEC said Feb. 27 it will start shipping the VALUESTAR T on March 8. The model has a 15.3-inch wide digital liquid crystal display (LCD) that can automatically show selected TV programs. The model is equipped with Intel's Pentium III CPU and a 60-gigabyte hard disk drive.
