The glass window turns opaque when a person enters and becomes clear when the installed motion sensor does not detect any motion in the room for 35 seconds. The lavatories will be installed at the mountain's summit in late June to decompose human waste. Officials of the nonprofit Fujisan Club said May 23 that they installed a biodegrading lavatory at the mountain's fifth station last year.
