N. Korea lukewarm about holding World Cup matches

SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea has given a lukewarm reaction to South Korea's proposal of playing some matches of the 2002 World Cup finals in the North, South Korean soccer chief Chung Mong Joon says Nov. 19 after completing a five-day visit. In a statement issued upon his return to Seoul, Chung said, ''The North Korean side told us it is difficult at this stage to agree to the idea of participating in the staging of the 2002 World Cup finals.''
