China: Selfless Man Lifts Downed Wire With Spade For Passing Cars In Rain

In eastern China, a brave and selfless sanitation worker lifted an electrical wire that had been broken by a fallen tree with a spade in the rain, clearing the way for the cars passing by. The video was filmed in Changzhou, Jiangsu on May 26, 2024. The man used a shovel to lift the electrical wire, preventing it from falling to the ground and posing a danger to passing vehicles and pedestrians. One of the witnesses Mr. Wu recalled the touching moment in an interview, mentioning that a heavy rainstorm unexpectedly broke out, causing a branch to snap and bring down an electrical wire. He greatly admired his actions as he passed by. Another witness, Ms. Fan, stated that she initially wanted to bring something to shield the elderly man from the rain. However, she saw another man offer him an umbrella, which he declined. Fortunately, the rain stopped after a short while. She also said that when the electrical wire was broken, some nearby shops experienced power outages.
