Carpool lanes on the Paris ring road, France on March 4, 2025. The Paris ring road continues to be transformed to improve traffic flow, reduce pollution and limit noise pollution. Following the introduction of a 50 km/h speed limit, a car-sharing lane was inaugurated on Monday March 3. This lane is reserved for vehicles carrying at least two passengers. In order to control access to this lane, specialized radars are currently being tested. Using artificial intelligence, these radars can detect the number of occupants in a vehicle.
