U.S. carrier Kitty Hawk leaves Yokosuka
The U.S. aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk leaves its home port of
Yokosuka, southwest of Tokyo, on Wednesday morning Sept. 30 to take
part in joint maneuvers with Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force in
the Sea of Japan in early October. This is the first voyage for the
81,123-ton Kitty Hawk since it replaced the aircraft carrier
Independence in August at the U.S. naval base at Yokosuka.
