N. Korean actress defects to S. Korea
Kim Hye Young (back L), a North Korean actress, defected to
South Korea with her family members in August last year to continue
her career in acting, the South Korean Unification Ministry says Jan.
5. Kim, 26, decided to defect to S. Korea after failing to be
admitted into the Pochonbo Electronic Music Troupe founded by North
Korean leader Kim Jong Il. She said that her connection to relatives
in China was behind her rejection by the school. The picture was
released by the South Korean government.
