EPA holds severe view of Japan's economy
Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi (C) sits with members of his
cabinet at his official residence Jan. 19 to discuss a monthly report
prepared by the Economic Planning Agency (EPA). The January report
said the Japanese economy remains in a severe situation overall,
citing concern over rising long-term interest rates and increased
unemployment.
