Nissan, Renault heads hold press confab on tie-up
Nissan Motor Co. President Yoshikazu Hanawa, right, and
Renault SA Chairman Louis Schweitzer, left, hold a press conference
in Tokyo in the afternoon of March 27 after both signed a broad
agreement that calls for the French automaker to take a 36.8 percent
equity stake in the debt-ridden Japanese carmaker. Under the accord,
Renault will invest 643 billion yen (about 5.4 billion U.S. dollars)
in the Nissan group.
