New Honshu-Shikoku speedway to open in a month
A new speedway linking Japan's main islands of Honshu and
Shikoku will open May 1, after 25 years under construction. The
60-kilometer speedway between Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, and
Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, is the 3rd and last one linking the two
main islands over the Seto Inland Sea in western Japan. The photo,
taken from a helicopter over Ikuchishima Island, Hiroshima Pref., on
March 28, shows the new speedway's Tatara-Ohashi Bridge.
