Japan to financially aid E. Timor int'l force, refugees
TOKYO, Japan - Japan unveils a comprehensive policy package for East Timor on Sept. 16, pledging ''substantial'' financial contributions to a multinational force to restore peace there, $2 million in initial humanitarian aid for refugees, and longer-term rebuilding and development assistance. Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura announced the measures at a press conference at his ministry.
