Tokyo stocks up, Nikkei, TOPIX set year's closing highs

TOKYO, Japan - Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) share prices are higher minutes before the close of the last trading day of 1999, on Dec. 30. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index hit the year's closing high of 18,934.34, with the Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) of all First Section issues also climbing to the year's highest close of 1,722.20.
