People mourn Kobe quake victims in candlelight
KOBE, Japan - Photo shows ''1.17'' outlined by candles lit by mourners in Kobe in the early morning of Jan. 17, the fifth anniversary of the Great Hanshin Earthquake. The massive quake struck at 5:46 a.m. on Jan. 17, 1995, devastating the port city of Kobe and its vicinity and killing more than 6,000 people. The photo was taken from a helicopter.
