AUM seeks court injunction against gov't surveillance
TOKYO, Japan - Akitoshi Hirosue (L), a senior member of the AUM Shinrikyo cult, and a fellow member speak at a press conference in Tokyo on Feb. 8 after filing an injunction against ongoing government inspections of AUM facilities. The group also filed a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court alleging that monitoring by the Public Security Investigation Agency and police violates constitutional guarantees of freedom of religion. The cult now calls itself ''Aleph.''
