Japan's 3rd 'domino' liver transplants go smoothly

TOKYO, Japan - Keio University Hospital surgeons remove the liver of a patient in his 20s with familial amyloid polyneuropathy Feb. 21, in Japan's third ''domino'' liver transplants. The patient will receive part of his father's liver, and the removed liver was later transported from Keio hospital in Tokyo to Kyoto University Hospital in western Japan, where it will be divided for transplant into two males in their 30s with critical liver diseases.
