Japanese migrants sue gov't for 2.5 bil. yen
TOKYO, Japan - Plaintiffs and lawyers meet the press after Japanese who emigrated to the Dominican Republic in the 1950s under a government program filed a 2.49 billion yen damages suit July 18 against the Japanese government for hardships suffered in the Caribbean country. Led by 73-year-old Kurato Kimura (2nd from L in the front row), 126 plaintiffs and their children filed the suit with the Tokyo District Court.
