Transport Ministry employee's car bombed

OKUSAWA, Japan - Policemen investigate a Transport Ministry employee's car that was bombed on the morning of Aug. 26 in an apparent urban guerrilla attack. The car was parked in the garage of the employee's home in Okusawa in Tokyo's Setagaya Ward. The bomb, which went off at around 2:50 a.m., shattered the front side window on the passenger side and cracked the windshield. No injuries were reported.

    TOKYO, Japan - The Kibo (Hope), a Techno Super Liner (TSL) developed by the Transport Ministry and the shipbuilding industry as a rescue ship and car ferry, sails off the Pacific port of Shimizu, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Feb. 29. The high-speed ferry began a trial run between Japan and Shanghai to test its capacity as a next-generation freighter and passenger vessel.
