New economic panel eyes full recovery
TOKYO, Japan - The Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy, a new economic panel headed by Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, holds its first meeting on Jan. 6, the day major government administrative reforms aimed at exerting political leadership over economic policy-making came into force to bring about an early economic recovery and to restore the state's long-term financial health.
