Matsushita, Hitachi announce home appliance alliance

TOKYO, Japan - Etsuhiko Shoyama (L), president of Hitachi Ltd. and Kunio Nakamura, president of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., shake hands at a news conference in a Tokyo hotel on May 23. The two announced that their companies have agreed to a strategic partnership in such fields as information services and home appliances.
