Rhodes held to 55 in last game
KOBE, Japan - Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes' Tuffy Rhodes watches the ball after hitting a pop fly to catcher Takashi Miwa at his second at bat in the fourth inning against the Orix Bluewave at Kobe Stadium on Oct. 5. His quest to break the 32-year-old Japanese single-season home run record ended in disappointment. Rhodes, who has equaled Sadaharu Oh's home run record of 55 set in 1964, had plenty of chances to rewrite the history books with No. 56 but popped out three times and grounded out once in the newly crowned Pacific League champions' final game of the regular season.
