Bridgestone cuts earnings forecast due to tire recall costs

TOKYO, Japan - Shigeo Watanabe, president of Bridgestone Corp., meets the press in Tokyo on Dec. 4. He said the company has cut its group earnings forecast for the current fiscal year through Dec. 31 due mainly to increased costs and losses connected to massive tire recalls at its U.S. unit, Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.
