State must pay health allowances to S. Korean A-bomb survivor
NAGASAKI, Japan - Lee Kang Young (L), a South Korean survivor of the 1945 atomic bombing of Nagasaki, and his supporters hold a banner supporting Lee's call for the state to pay him health care allowances near the Nagasaki District Court on Dec. 26 before the court's decision on his claim. The court ordered the state to pay him a total of 1.03 million yen in health care allowances that it failed to give him after he left Japan following a brief stay for treatment in 1994.
