29-kg radish wins contest, organizers to seek Guinness record
KAGOSHIMA, Japan - Manabu Ono, 58, a Kagoshima office worker, holds a 29.6-kilogram Sakurajima daikon radish which won a contest in the town of Sakurajima, Kagoshima Prefecture, on Feb. 10. Organizers said they will apply for an entry in the ''Guinness World Records'' book. A 21.2-kg radish, also grown by Ono, won the contest a year ago and holds the current world record.
